Approaching the end of her apprenticeship, Daisy reflects on her journey and the skills she’s gained along the way.
About Daisy
Since starting her Business Administration Apprenticeship in August 2024, Daisy has made impressive progress and is now approaching her final assessments to complete the Level 3 qualification. As her skills have developed, so have her responsibilities within the business. Let’s hear more about her journey in her own words.
What new responsibilities have you taken on at work?
Since starting my apprenticeship at Direct Air in August 2024, I’ve been closely involved in the organisation’s warranty processes. Over time, I’ve gained the knowledge and confidence to independently manage the entire warranty claims system. Taking ownership of this responsibility has not only allowed me to grow within my role but has also shown me how integral my work is to the team. Knowing I’m relied upon motivates me to process claims efficiently and secure timely compensation from our external stakeholders.
Have you done any extra training courses alongside your apprenticeship?
Yes, during my apprenticeship, I’ve taken additional courses to strengthen my digital communication skills, both written and verbal. I also have an upcoming course focused on advancing my Excel skills, particularly learning key shortcuts to improve efficiency when creating and editing spreadsheets.
What have you got coming up at college?
I’ve now completed all of the lessons and coursework required for my Business Administration qualification, which means I’m in the final phase of the apprenticeship. At this stage, my focus has shifted towards preparing for my end-point assessment, which includes a professional discussion, a portfolio-based presentation, and a knowledge test. I’m currently revising key topics and perfecting my presentation skills to make sure I can confidently demonstrate everything I’ve learned throughout the course.
Do you think the apprenticeship will help to provide you with skills for life?
Definitely. Throughout my apprenticeship, I’ve gained a wide range of transferable skills like communication, problem-solving, and working independently, which I know will benefit me in both my career and personal life. These experiences have helped me build confidence and adaptability, giving me a solid foundation to take into any future role or challenge.
