Direct Air is pleased to announce availability of the new CompAir FourCore L-Series in the 45 to 55 kW range. This is the next generation replacement for the outgoing L45 to L55 models, with clear improvements in efficiency, footprint, and control. If you are running an older L45 or L55 today, this is the natural upgrade path.
What’s new
The big change is the FourCore compression block. In simple terms, CompAir has re-engineered the airend so the two-stage versions deliver the efficiency benefits you would expect from a two-stage machine, but in a much smaller package. That makes upgrades easier, especially where plantroom space is tight or the compressor needs to fit a fixed footprint.
For customers, the result is straightforward:
- more air delivered for the same power input
- lower running costs over the working week
- a compact machine that is easier to position and service
CompAir’s own testing shows a noticeable jump in delivered performance and a reduction in energy use compared with the previous generation. In real applications, that translates into a faster return where compressors are running long hours.
Built for modern demand patterns
The new 45–55 kW range is available in both fixed speed and regulated speed (variable speed) models. If your air use rises and falls during the day, the regulated speed option is designed to follow that demand closely and avoid wasted unloaded running. That’s where many sites see the strongest savings.
If demand is stable and predictable, the fixed speed variants remain a solid, efficient baseload choice.
There is also futureproofing built in. The regulated speed units can be adjusted from 45 kW to 55 kW in the field, so you are not locked into today’s demand level if production grows.
Easier to install, easier to keep running
Beyond the airend, CompAir has tightened up the whole package. The two-stage machines now take up significantly less floor space than before, while still covering the same pressure and flow band. Internally, the layout reduces pipework and simplifies access, which helps keep servicing quick and predictable.
Every unit comes with CompAir’s latest touchscreen control platform and built-in connectivity for monitoring and optimisation. That gives you better visibility of performance, early warning of issues, and the option to link into wider system control if you are running multiple compressors.
