At Direct Air, apprenticeships play an important role in how we build skills for life across the business and support customers long term. As part of National Apprenticeship Week, we asked our apprentices to share insight into their day-to-day roles, highlighting the range of work they’re involved in, from on-site installations and servicing to system design, project support and customer-facing work.

Our apprentices work across sales, engineering and business administration, gaining hands-on experience while supporting live customer projects. From assisting with compressed air installations and maintenance work to preparing system proposals and supporting projects behind the scenes, they play an active role in the day-to-day operation of the business.

Investing in apprenticeships helps us develop people who understand our systems, our standards and how our customers operate. It also supports the consistent, reliable service we aim to deliver now and in the future.

Recent apprentice highlights

Across the business, our apprentices are involved in a wide range of work. The examples below highlight tasks they’ve supported over recent weeks:

Engineering apprentices

  • Zak, Engineering Apprentice – Supporting on-site installations and pipework modifications for customer systems
  • Louie, Engineering Apprentice – Assisting with dryer installations and compressed air pipework on customer sites
  • Jayden, Engineering Apprentice – Supporting compressor preparation and servicing work alongside the service team
  • Owen, Engineering Apprentice – Completing modifications to existing compressed air systems to support future machine installations

Sales apprentices
